Position Overview: This role will ensure the day-to-day reliability, performance, and integrity of the enterprise data communications network. This includes the installation, maintenance, and management of network equipment (e.g., switches, routers), as well as developing policies and procedures aligned with Group IT to support network operations and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary escalation point for technical issues, providing responsive support to North America teams and business partners.
- Escalate complex issues to internal teams or third-party vendors, ensuring service level agreements are met.
- Collaborate with IT teams on projects to improve end-user support and network efficiency.
- Manage network operations across offices, manufacturing sites, distribution centers, and remote locations.
- Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and partner with telecom providers for support.
- Assist in project management for technology infrastructure upgrades or new implementations.
- Handle service impact outages and contribute to technology expense reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 10+ years of hands-on networking experience.
- Expertise in wireless networks, routing, WAN, and network security.
- Experience with LAN/WAN design, telephony, load balancers, and security appliances.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network troubleshooting.
- CCNP certification (or equivalent) required; additional certifications (CCSP, CCDP, CCVP, CISSP) a plus.
- Experience with network tools such as Juniper, F5, Riverbed, SolarWinds, and others.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot at levels 1-4, from break/fix to design/architecture.
- Solid understanding of data protocols, network security, and IT best practices.
- Experience creating network documentation, configurations, and operational manuals.
